Frida Eun Ae Yngvesson (b. 1985, Seoul, South Korea) is a Swedish dance artist and performer, based in Berlin since 2008. She graduated from the Ballet Academy of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2007 and has since been engaged as a dancer in a number of performances and collaborative projects and has worked with choreographers and artists such as Alexandra Pirici, Meagan O’Shea, Grace Euna Kim, Rory Pilgrim, Lysandre Coutu-Sauvé and Anna Asplind among others.
Since 2016 she is a member of iYi, an interdisciplinary art collective, creating site specific and immersive performances and installations. They have shown their works at Haunt (Berlin 2025), MaHalla (Berlin, 2025), Kunstverein Göttingen (2024), Hošek Contemporary (Berlin, 2023) and Mercantic (Barcelona, 2019).
She is also a member of the Audio Ballerinas, an interdisciplinary company within the fields of dance, sound and site-specific performances, led by artist Benoit Maubrey, with whom she has been touring and performing internationally since 2011.
She also created and presented her own works in collaboration with Marie Rechsteiner as the duo Yngvesson/Rechsteiner, and their works have been shown at Garage (Berlin 2018), Scenstudion Gerlesborg (Sweden 2018) and Ada Studio (Berlin 2016).
Fridas own work is largely based in embodiment, improvisation and butoh practices. She is interested in how sound, movement and different forms of visuals can blend together and form holistic experiences in physical installations or live performances. Her work often involves themes of cultural memory, resistance and collectiveness.
Since 2023 she also holds a certification as a curative dance instructor from Tanztherapie Zentrum Berlin.
